Can I get donations to fund a scholarship and then after enough interest is earned return the principle?

June 9th, 2010 by admin | 3 Comments | Filed in Asnwers

I want to start a foundation for a scholarship. I would like to get funding in some large donations, earn interest to grow the account and then return the principle. The remaining interest would then be the principle for the scholarship fund. Basically it would be an interest free loan for maybe 6 months or a year to get the fund established. Is this legal? What are the tax implications for the original donors (corporate of personal)? Could they deduct the income one year and then have to count it the next?

I want to work out the return on an invstmt which involves an initial dep. then further deps AND withdrawals?

May 17th, 2010 by admin | 1 Comment | Filed in Asnwers

What I mean is, for example I deposit $100 in a savings account, then 2 months later withdraw $20, then 7 months later deposit $50 then finally withdraw $200 a year later. Whats the return on investment? All formulas I’ve come across dont allow for further deposits, they just allow for one initial deposit and a series of withdrawals.

How quickly does Nitinol wire return to its original length after being electrically charged?

May 16th, 2010 by admin | 1 Comment | Filed in Asnwers

I have a few ideas that an artificial muscle would be very useful for. For best results it would have to last a long time, contract with significant force, and return to normal length relatively quickly. Will Nitinol wire fill this role?

If not, how quickly does it return?
Let me rephrase this, how long does it take to cool a fiber of ninitol wire to the point where it contracts again? I’ve heard of it being used for some robotic applications where it would be frequently flexed.

I know there are literally hundreds of books and comics that take place after the events of the last star wars movie, but does anyone know where i would start? I want to pick up right where the movie left off if at all possible. Also i would prefer if the story is canon (official to the star wars universe). Thank you!

What will Repubublicans have to offer once jobs return, and the economy recovers, as it inexorably will?

May 16th, 2010 by admin | 19 Comments | Filed in Asnwers

When the fear subsides, saner and more rational thinking will begin to occur in more and more people. What will the GOP have to offer then? Since the vast majority of the Republican machine is opposed to doing anything at all, productive or not, won’t that cause an even greater sag in Republican popularity?

How will the long time resident tax credit affect my tax return?

May 16th, 2010 by admin | 3 Comments | Filed in Asnwers

I am fairly sure I qualify for this. I have lived in my home for 14 years and make way less than $125,000. I know it will be 10% of what I paid for my home. How will this credit affect my tax return? Will I get all of it back? A percentage? Thanks for any info.
